I specialize in creating short films in style of early and middle Soviet era kinofilmi. All my work is done with a minimal amount of computerized manipulation, leaving the soul of the film in the way it was shot.
I love constructivism! Constructivism was an artistic and architectural philosophy that originated in Russia beginning in 1913 by Vladimir Tatlin. This was a rejection of the idea of autonomous art. He wanted 'to construct' art. The movement was in favour of art as a practice for social purposes. Constructivism had a great effect on modern art movements of the 20th century, influencing major trends such as the Bauhaus and De Stijl movements. Its influence was pervasive, with major effects upon architecture, graphic design, industrial design, theatre, film, dance, fashion and to some extent music.
My secondary interest is in photography - both digital and film. If you do not know what a CR2 or RAW file is, please either look it up or never use a camera again.
Note: There are no Sovietskiy kinofilm or Soyuzmultfilm groups on DA. This is a great tragedy. Except that there are now! Join our group at sovietfilmfanatics.deviantart.…

I'm also a tailor. I speak Russian and English fluently, along with some Ukrainian. I can sort of make my way through German if you *really* want to test me. I'm a Russian and Soviet military collector, hit me up if you need help collecting. I know all the tricks. Chances are I'm animating and listening to Communist music at any given moment. I really miss Cuba and my home country. :/
